Strength in Adversity (1 min read)

Sometimes, in the middle of nowhere comes a setback. And in it, we often find a deep sense of meaning and direction. The struggle becomes a medium for growth. It is a test of resilience and often redefines our goals. Setbacks are never roadblocks but new roadmaps. They are like transformative stepping stones to something more purposeful and fulfilling.

Landing on my ankle on the first weekend of the year wasn't exactly what I expected, yet it happened! Was I (rather am I) upset? Frustrated and disappointed? Most certainly yes! There was much planned and much to look forward to. A brand new year for work, studies and family responsibilities, yet here I am plastered and immobilized.

To be able to accept disappointment takes courage. It involves a shift in perspective and mindset. Instead of dwelling on what didn't go as planned, consider it an opportunity. Reflect on the experience and identify the lesson. It will help in persisting with greater resilience towards a better future.

Sitting on my bed, looking at my slightly neglected balcony garden I recalled some of the terms I learnt as a container gardener.

Look forward to sharing more of my experiences in the coming weeks.

Every event is a learning experience. It teaches and prepares you. Wonderful of you to take those experiences and pen them down to be able to rationalize. Keep them coming.

This reflects my struggles in 2023 coming to terms and acceptance of the present challenges after a comfortable career of 29 years I am reinventing my self. Yes the Journey is hard Tough frustrating depressing and at times you feel like quitting. But the smal wins make this journey worthwhile and helps you to grow against all odds

Lying in bed from the 18th of December. Diagnosed with cellulitis under the left foot, a surgery was a must. The procedure over on the 4th of January, I am recuperating with the passing of each day. This pain and trauma that I had to bear was a ' gift' from HIM. Not for once did I blame HIM or asked for mercy, because I realised that the CROSS was now on my shoulder and I am chosen to bear it till a greater purpose is fulfilled.

Setbacks are very frustrating . When you move forward a step & then problems make you take 2 steps back, you simply want to give up. But life has a way of going forward..all we have to do is place our faith in it and not lose hope. Hurdles will be crossed..always.

Superb!! how beautifully you penned your experience. I'm too in the same situation with my right ankle fracture since end November and it was really disheartening with Christmas season around the corner. Indeed we learn alot thru these setbacks. Thanks dear for sharing your beautiful thoughts. God bless - Chandra
